The Time: September 2023

The Impact: Our Oceans

The First Ever Circumnavigation by relay Swimming

Daring to dream, Challenge the Seas

From mountain leaders to Atlantic rowers, world record holders and swimming coaches, we are a diverse team of six swimmers from all different walks of life. United by a shared love of the ocean and one goal, to conquer the unchartered waters around Ibiza. With the utmost dedication to our safety and success, our support and logistics team includes experienced professionals from the Adaptive Grand Slam and an on-board doctor.

We will tackle the sea head-on, swimming in two-hour intervals as a relay team, with non-stop movement until we complete our journey. We will swim through the night, taking turns to rest, while a support boat accompanies us, ensuring our safety and providing assistance.

Together, we're an unstoppable force and aim to make history with our determination, courage and camaraderie.

Our audacious goal is to secure our place in the Guinness Book of Records as the first relay team to swim continuously around Ibiza.

FOR THE OCEANS

We want our challenge to serve as a catalyst to raise awareness and drive funds into dynamic community-based marine projects that are scaling marine conservation solutions. This is why we've chosen to partner with Pelorus Foundation, an independent charity that empowers individuals and local communities to preserve and protect the world's wildlife and wild places for future generations.

Funds raised will play a crucial role in the conservation of the Balearic Sea marine biodiversity, and also support coastal community projects that tackle rural poverty in Kenya, whilst protecting the ocean.

We will also be donating part of the funds raised to balance our carbon footprint during the challenge. This will be done through Pelorus Foundation's Climate Investment Fund, a dynamic carbon removal portfolio supporting the scale of some of the world's leading blue carbon projects. From mangroves to kelp farms, we want our swim to showcase the power of ocean restoration.

A word from Sophie:

"From all the feet that have trodden, stomped and danced on Ibiza, we want to give back to the island. There is a tremendous soulful spritit, a lesser-known wilderness to Ibiza and its surrounding marine habitat. Right now, it is at risk of irreparably damaging if we don't act. And so, six of us are taking to the ocean, one of the world's greatest levelers, to relay swim the 148km miles around the island. In undertaking a challenge that's never before been completed, we will raise money for Pelorus Foundation and its marine conservation work.

Our mission goes beyond conquering an incredibly physically enduring challenge. We are committed to raising awareness of the plight of the planet's ocean to create a positive impact now and in generations to come.

We hope you'll be inspired to join us. Together, we can make a lasting impact."
